Registered Nurse in Australia

Becoming a Registered Nurse in Australia

To work as a Registered Nurse, it is mandatory to be registered with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), a part of Australia’s apex health regulatory body, the Australian Health Practitioner regulatory agency (AHPRA).

If you are an Internationally qualified Nurse or Midwife who meets the AHPRA specified English language requirements, to gain the registration, you need to undergo an Outcome-Based Assessment (OBA).
